Lazy photoshop after work

Trying to be bolder with colour, not sure it’s working.

Work in progress, super zoomed in.

I watched Drive again the other day… one thing led to another and before I knew it I had ended up with this.

Batman Begins. As does 2013 (well, it did a few days ago).
A belated Happy New Year to you all. Here’s hoping for more regular blogging (as I don’t do that enough - makes it seem like I’m not doing anything) and some commissions this year.

I couldn’t do only one of the three.
Personal work - practising likenesses and making images out of other elements (his eyes are two-face coins, for example)

“You mark that frame an 8, and you’re entering a world of pain”

Sneakiest of peeks at a little detail from another of the covers for Film Directors I’m trying out. WIP. Drawing not finished, and I have a crit at 9.30. No rest for the wicked.

“Mark it zero”

Doodles of ideas for Drive competition brief.

Couldn’t focus on dissertation stuff, so start brainstorming some ideas for the competition brief, following on from last week’s monoprints and drawings.

Spoke to different tutors and they think monoprint is working well, links in with the grimey car mechanic feel. Could maybe integrate this with tyre treads? Also had a little idea of having his face made out of tyre marks, as if his face has been made out of a car skidding round, so it would have two lines leading round.

Maybe have the other characters/his car in his glasses?

My main idea for this is to have his face made out of car parts - with items he has/uses mixed in, so you have to look for them. Could be challenging.

Also, some colour tests for a more conventional straightforward portrait.

Monoprints needed to be more 80s.

I like the pink on white - think I’ll try monoprinting them with coloured inks / screen print them with bright inks.

I don’t want to write any more essay.

Feedback would be most welcome and appreciated, thanks!
