WIP on Hitchcock cover.
Started trying to add colour, push forward the Hitchcock cover I’ve been working at. Not sure if this is a good idea, so I’m hoping I might get some feedback by uploading this.
I tried colouring it with various preset brushes to make it look like it was hand made, but it looked too messy, as there’s so much going on in the drawings. So I decided I wanted to simplify it and vector it - linking the colour and shapes back to posters for Hitchcock’s Vertigo.
The red around the head and shoulders of Hitchcock will go round the cover and spine, onto the back, where there’ll be a plug hole from Psycho, so it’s like blood really.
In short, that’s my reasoning behind doing this - I would very much appreciate any feedback, positive or negative - would like to know if it’s working or not. If you do have a few seconds spare, please could you let me know what you think?
Thank you! (I’m thinking of rubbing out some of the lines, maybe let the blocks of colour define some of the forms? In a similar way to what I did with one of my Unit 7 projects (hopefully I’ll get it right this time, though!!) That ugly black line defining Hitchcock’s head certainly won’t be there in the final thing!)
